Single-ply membrane roofs

This single-coat waterproofing membrane installation method is ideal for large-scale roofs typical of commercial, industrial or institutional sectors, where obstacles are few and far between.
There are two main categories of membrane.
On the one hand, thermoplastic membranes become soft with heat, and their joints are weldable.
On the other hand, thermosetting membranes have joints that can be glued.

The most common thermoplastic models include TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin).
This material is appreciated for its watertightness and low environmental impact, thanks to its generally white color.
PVC (polyvinyl chloride) membranes are appreciated for their seam strength and endurance against weather and pollutants.
EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), a synthetic rubber, is the most widely adopted version, thanks to its exceptional longevity.

A thorough understanding of single-ply membranes is essential.

This ensures the roof’s strength and longevity.
It’s also important to note that this type of coating is generally thinner than modified bitumen.
